Will Samson be playing in the IPL match or not?
Sanju Samson's injury raises questions about his participation in IPL 2025. Despite being injured during India's victory over England in the recent T20I, Samson's injury is not serious, and he is expected to lead Rajasthan Royals in the upcoming IPL season starting March 2025.
In the last T20I match between India and England, under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, Team India achieved a brilliant victory. With this win, India won the 5-match series 4-1. However, along with this victory, there are reports that India’s star opener, Sanju Samson, has been injured. Due to this injury, there are doubts about whether he will play in the upcoming IPL 2025.
In the 5th T20 match held in Mumbai, India defeated England by a massive margin of 150 runs. India batted first and scored 247 runs. Abhishek Sharma’s century helped India set a huge total. England’s team was bowled out for just 97 runs. In this victory, Sanju Samson got injured. While batting, he was injured on his finger by a ball bowled by Jofra Archer. Though the physio treated him, Samson continued to play, hitting a six and a four to show respect to Archer. However, in the second over, he gave a catch to Mark Wood and got out. He scored 16 runs off 7 balls before being dismissed.
Despite the injury, during the second half, Samson sat in the dugout and enjoyed the game with his teammates, suggesting that the injury might not be too severe. He couldn’t keep wickets in the second innings, and Dhruv Jurel replaced him. However, Samson is set to play for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025, and it is noteworthy that he will be the captain of the team. He will lead Rajasthan Royals in the tournament, which begins on March 21, 2025. Since his injury doesn't seem serious, it appears likely that he will play in IPL 2025. With more time until the tournament, there is a chance he will fully recover and be fit.
