Rahul Gandhi's Shocking Comments on Make in India

In the Parliament, during the President's speech thank-you remarks, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, described the 'Make in India' initiative brought by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as fundamentally a good idea. However, he stated that it has completely failed.

"The Prime Minister introduced the 'Make in India' program. It's a good idea. But the results are right in front of you. In 2014, the manufacturing sector's share in the country's GDP was 15.3%, and now it has dropped to 12.6%. This is the lowest the manufacturing sector has been in the last 60 years. I'm not directly blaming the Prime Minister, and it wouldn't be correct to say he didn't try. But what needs to be said is that the Prime Minister tried... but failed," Rahul Gandhi commented.

Speaking further, Rahul Gandhi added, "Because 'Make in India' failed, our country stopped producing. That's why I can say Chinese troops are present in our country."

"Every country mainly manages two things – consumption and production. What we call the service sector today is managing consumption. Managing production refers to the manufacturing sector. However, production is not just limited to manufacturing. As a country, we have failed to manage production properly," Rahul Gandhi said.

"Our country has many good companies. They are trying to manage production. But what we have done is handed over the manufacturing sector to China. For example, we claim that mobile phones are being made in India. But this is not true. Only phone assembly happens in India. All the parts are made in China," he added.
