33 Jahre nach „Beverly Hills 90210“: Jennie hat sich Garth nicht verändert

At 51 years old, Jennie Garth continues to captivate audiences with her timeless beauty. The former 'Beverly Hills, 90210' star was the guest of honor at the Raffaello Summer Day event held at the Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur in Berlin. Dressed in a glamorous ensemble, Garth drew comparisons to the character that made her a household name: the spoiled yet lovable Kelly Taylor. Three decades after the show's debut, fans still stop her on the street, often telling her she looks exactly the same.

A Timeless Star

Jennie Garth's journey to fame began in the early 1990s when she landed the role of Kelly Taylor on the iconic teen drama 'Beverly Hills, 90210.' The series, which aired from 1990 to 2000, followed a group of wealthy teenagers navigating life in the upscale Los Angeles neighborhood. Garth's character, initially a shallow socialite, evolved into a fan favorite due to her complex storylines and dramatic arcs. The show's massive popularity turned Garth into a global star, and she quickly became a symbol of 90s pop culture.

At the Berlin event, Garth spoke openly about her enduring connection with fans. "Most of the time, women my age or 10 to 20 years younger recognize me and approach me on the street," she said. "It feels like they're meeting an old friend because we grew up together." That nostalgic bond is a testament to the lasting impact of the series, which has been rebooted multiple times and still finds new audiences through streaming platforms.

Secret to Her Youth

When asked about her seemingly ageless appearance, Garth attributed it to a disciplined lifestyle. "I eat very healthily, and I always get at least eight hours of sleep. Sleep is crucial not just for your looks but for your overall health," she explained. Her fitness routine includes hitting the gym two to three times a week, which she considers essential as she ages. "If you don't move, you gain weight. I've experienced the yo-yo effect myself when I stopped working out," she admitted.

But diet is just as important. Garth revealed that she has completely overhauled her eating habits. "I cut out sugar, eat more fresh vegetables, more protein, and I don't drink alcohol. I eliminated alcohol from my life entirely. When you stop for a while, you don't even want it anymore," she shared. Even indulgences like chocolate are rare. "Very seldom! Chocolate is delicious and addictive. You have to be careful. I limit all sweets since I've gotten older. But I do put natural cocoa—pure cacao—in my smoothie every morning," she added.

Heart Health Advocacy

Beyond her beauty secrets, Garth is also a vocal advocate for heart health. In 2002, she was diagnosed with a leaky heart valve, a condition that required emergency surgery. This health scare changed her perspective on life. "I'm a big proponent of prevention. The earlier you know, the better—not just about my heart. The leaky valve is actually quite common, but most people don't realize they have it," she explained. Since then, Garth has become a national ambassador for the American Heart Association, spreading awareness about cardiovascular health.

"It's amazing that you can heal your own heart. You can improve your heart health, almost like reversing the damage you've done. Healthier habits, better diet, proper exercise—it's so important. Even just walking every day. You have to stay active. I'm always on the move," she said.

Support for Shannen Doherty

During the interview, Garth also offered heartfelt words for her former co-star Shannen Doherty, who has been battling breast cancer since 2015. Doherty recently revealed that the cancer has metastasized to her brain. Despite the grim prognosis, Doherty has shared her treatment journey on social media, including videos from radiation therapy. When asked about Doherty's openness, Garth said, "It was her decision to speak publicly about her renewed cancer battle. It makes sense because she has so many people around the world who love her. Most fans know her from '90210.' Why shouldn't she share her story? She might help others tell theirs."

Life After '90210'

Since the end of the original series, Garth has continued to work steadily. She appeared in numerous TV movies and a sequel series, '90210,' which ran from 2008 to 2013. Many still associate her most strongly with Kelly Taylor, and she understands that connection. "People love seeing us together. I never say never to anything," she said when asked about a possible future reboot. The cast has reunited for special episodes and interviews in the past, but a full-scale revival remains uncertain.

Off-screen, Garth is a mother to three daughters: Luca Bella (25), Lola Ray (20), and Fiona Eve (16), from her marriage to actor Peter Facinelli, which ended in 2013. In 2015, she married Dave Abrams, her third husband. The couple frequently appears together at public events, and Garth has described Abrams as a huge source of support.

Family and Future

Balancing motherhood, marriage, and a career is no easy feat, but Garth handles it with grace. She often shares glimpses of her family life on social media, showing that despite her fame, she values the simple things. Her daughters have mostly stayed out of the spotlight, though Luca Bella has ventured into modeling. Garth has also taken on new roles behind the camera, including directing and producing, which she finds creatively fulfilling.

Looking ahead, Garth remains open to new opportunities in entertainment. Whether it's acting, producing, or advocacy work, she continues to inspire her fans. For now, she enjoys the recognition and the chance to reconnect with the audience that made her a star. As she said at the Berlin event, "I've been lucky to have such a loyal fan base. They've been with me through everything."
